Ssezibwa Falls

Sezibwa Falls is located in Mukono District about 32 kilometres on the Kampala-Jinja highway. It’s a heritage site affiliated with the Buganda kingdom. The falls are on the river sezibwa that flows from between lake Victoria and Lake Kyoga.

If you are a person who loves views of plunging waterfalls make sure to visit Ssezibwa falls while in Uganda. On your way to Jinja via Kampala – Jinja road you will find the branch off path to the falls. This point is located in Namataba before Lugazi town.

Formed by the flowing Ssezibwa River, these falls are seven meters high. Apart from the cascading waters, the natural setting of this place is breathtaking. The source of River Sezibwa is found in Buikwe district and it streams for a total length of 150 km starting from the start to the end.

Once there, a local guide is available to give you all information about the falls. You also hike up to the top and admire spectacular views of the surrounding scenery.

The place is great for those who need a cool getaway for relaxing holidays. There is great accommodation facilities reserved for you. This hidden treasure is usually included in a day tour to Jinja but you can as well consider it on your longer safari in Uganda.
