If you seek a close encounter with the wild animals like lions, giraffes, chimpanzees and more try the behind the scenes experience at the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre. Popularly known as the zoo, this protected area is located in Entebbe and it was opened in 1952.
UWEC is home to most animals, birds and reptile species in Uganda’s biodiversity including the rescued animals. This activity allows you to go beyond the sights and sounds of Uganda’s Wildlife.
Early in the morning you will drive up to UWEC for the experience. You have a chance to choose one or two of the three experiences offered. The list includes the keeper’s guided tour, keeper-for-the-day and vet-for-the-day. Each task comes with its own responsibilities, lessons and fun moments.
Do you know what it means to run your hands along the fur of the lion and the elephant, feel the slithery python with your hands? Try this experience. The chimpanzee close up is the top highlight for most visitors.
